Who is Arnolfo Teves Jr.?

Rep. Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr. was born on Aug. 10, 1971. He is 51 years old.

Rep. Teves is currently on his third and final term as congressman of Negros Oriental's 3rd district. He moonlights as a radio program host and is very active on social media.

He is the brother of former Negros Oriental governor Pryde Henry Teves.

A member of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), Rep. Teves first became Negros Oriental 3rd district representative on June 30, 2016, or at the start of the 17th Congress. This was also the beginning of the term of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

In August 2016, Rep. Teves grabbed headlines by admitting that he was a "former longtime drug addict". He also said that, at that point, he had been sober for over 16 years.

During the 18th Congress, Rep. Teves was designated as one of the deputy speakers in the House of Representatives. This was the highest position in the chamber that he has been given.
