Iloilo City Sp Moves to Regulate Volume of Sound System, Karaoke, Juke Box

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) here is slated to amend the city's obsolete ordinance on regulation of the volume of sound system, karaoke, juke box and the like that was enacted in 1962.

City councilor Plaridel Nava said that it is high time to amend Ordinance Number 12 to "properly respond to the present situation involving the proper usage of the volume of any sound system, apparatus or instrument, motor vehicles, fire crackers and pyrotechnic devices."

Nava said that the old ordinance was composed of only three sections and sound systems were not as big as the current ones.
